This privacy policy explains how Wilson Computers Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The information we collect

Information you give us. When you complete a contact or enquiry form, request a discovery session through our online booking tool, or email or call us, we collect the details you choose to provide — typically your name, business name, email address, telephone number and the content of your message.

Information we collect automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers record limited technical information when you visit — for example your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure, available and working correctly.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track your activity across other websites. Only strictly necessary technologies required to deliver the site securely are used.

  • Our fonts are served by Bunny Fonts, a privacy-first, cookie-free font service hosted in the EU.
  • Our online booking scheduler (Microsoft Bookings) and, for existing clients, our support assistant are loaded from Microsoft only when you choose to open them.

If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are set.

How and why we use your information

We use your information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and provide the information or quotation you have asked for;
  • arrange and manage discovery sessions and appointments;
  • provide and administer our services where you become a client;
  • keep our website and systems secure; and
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our lawful bases for processing are our legitimate interests (responding to enquiries about our services and running our website securely), the performance of a contract where you are a client, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with a legal obligation where one applies.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business and website, and only as far as necessary. These include:

  • Microsoft (Microsoft 365 — email, calendars and booking);
  • GoDaddy (website hosting);
  • Cloudflare (content delivery and website security); and
  • our internal automation tooling used to route enquiries.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement) to ensure your information remains protected.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry information only for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you contact us again. If you become a client, we keep records for the duration of our relationship and as required by law (for example, for tax and accounting purposes). We review the information we hold regularly and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to our processing, to request a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@wilsoncomputers.co.uk.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
